With such a diverse ecosystem we can’t expect all Polkadot Hubs to be the same. Different types of hubs are needed to fit these different needs. So far we identified three categories of hubs that cover most of the common use cases.
Polkadot Pop-up Hub
- A temporary space dedicated to the Polkadot ecosystem/community activities, offering a physical venue for various community activities, including meetups, co-working, hackathons, and others
- Strategically positioned as part of larger Web3 events or community-relevant activities, for example Decoded, Sub0, global blockchain weeks, Token2049, and others
- A dedicated go-to space for Polkadot community members for a limited time period in a temporary “hot location” for Polkadot community
- Great pilot project opportunity to assess the potential of a certain location
- Funded by Polkadot Events Bounty - for now
Polkadot Hub
- Typically situated in emerging web3 project hotspots, these smaller in size hubs hold significant influence as dynamic/vibrant hubs
- Initiated either by a singular ecosystem team or a dedicated group of ambassadors
- Providing a permanent space for networking, co-working, education, community engagement, attraction, ecosystem teams, events, and others.
Ookii Polkadot Hub
- Situated in key cities with
- established Polkadot base/Community
- established web3 project attraction, strategically enhancing Polkadot's presence
- Jointly initiated and supervised/managed by one or various ecosystem teams
- Providing a multifunctional space for collaboration, education, well-being, entrepreneurship, events and cutting-edge technology
- Usually generous in size and can welcome over 100 people
